Scientists have developed a new technique to help the healing process of patients suffering from burn wounds. The Skin-cell gun works like a paint spray gun, which shoots skin cells into the wounded area.
The concept was first introduced in 2008, and has now been used to treat more than a dozen patients. Before this technology, burns were usually treated with skin grafts, which can take several weeks, and patients are prone to infections during the whole process.
The new process cuts the healing time to days rather than weeks, and will help lots of people suffering, or that will (unfortunately) suffer from burns in the future.
