CASE STUDY · SCEE GROUP
Seven websites. One connected group.
System7 designed and delivered a coordinated digital platform for SCEE Group and six subsidiary businesses—giving every brand a clearer identity while preserving a strong group connection.
THE PROJECT
A growing group needed a digital system that could grow with it.
SCEE Group had expanded through acquisition into a diverse group of specialist businesses operating across infrastructure, commercial and resources sectors. Each business needed to communicate its own capabilities clearly, while customers, partners and prospective employees still needed to understand the connection to the wider group.
The challenge was not simply to redesign one website. It was to create a manageable system for seven related brands, coordinate a major combined launch and give internal teams a foundation they could continue to improve as the Group grew.
Project at a glance
- Seven coordinated websites for the parent group and six operating businesses at launch.
- One shared digital foundation supporting consistency, governance, easier maintenance and future growth.
- Distinct brand experiences that communicate each business’s specialist capabilities.
THE CHALLENGE
Balance group consistency with genuine business differences.
A single uniform website would have hidden the strengths of the individual businesses. Seven unrelated websites would have created duplication, inconsistent customer experiences and an ongoing management burden.
The platform needed to make the relationship between the businesses obvious without forcing every site into the same mould. It also needed to support business development, recruitment and the day-to-day work of multiple content teams.
OUR APPROACH
Design the system first, then express each brand through it.
System7 established the shared structure, content patterns and delivery process before applying them across the group. That reduced duplication and risk while leaving enough flexibility for every business to present its own services, projects and market position.
- Clarify the group architecture. Define what should be shared and where each business needed independence.
- Create reusable content patterns. Make services, projects, careers and cross-group relationships easier to understand and maintain.
- Coordinate the delivery. Manage content, design, development, testing and launch across seven connected websites.
- Build for ongoing improvement. Give the group a robust platform and repeatable processes rather than seven isolated launches.
THE OUTCOME
A connected digital presence built to grow with the group.
The completed platform gave SCEE Group a consistent group identity while allowing each operating business to explain its own capabilities and speak to its own audiences.
Customers can understand the breadth of the group and move between related businesses more easily. Careers content is more visible and consistent. Internal teams have a manageable content structure, and the shared foundation supports ongoing changes without recreating the same work across separate websites.
Since launch, SCEE Group has continued to grow through acquisition, expanding from seven to 10 websites. The platform provides a clearer, more efficient way to integrate new businesses and develop new websites that align with the Group’s established structure, look and feel.
Delivered at launch across: SCEE Group, SCEE Electrical, Heyday Group, Datatel Electrical & Communications, Trivantage Manufacturing, SEME Solutions and S.J. Electric.
CLIENT FEEDBACK
“To say that this was a major undertaking is an understatement. Your management of the project was on point, and the robust processes you have in place contributed greatly to the smooth running of such a complex project.”
