CASE STUDY · ALLTRANZ
From parts manuals to accurate online orders.
System7 helped Alltranz turn transmission-parts manuals into an online ordering platform—making it easier for customers to identify the right components and sending orders directly into the business’s order-management system.
THE PROJECT
Make specialist parts easier to find and order.
Transmission parts can be difficult to identify. Customers need to find the component that matches their vehicle and transmission, often by working through detailed technical diagrams and parts listings.
System7 brought that information into an ecommerce platform built around how Alltranz customers search for parts.
Project at a glance

Custom OCR processing to extract and structure information from manuals and PDFs.
-
Search starting with Rego Number or vehicle make and transmission.
-
Interactive diagrams for identifying and selecting components.

Orders passed directly into Alltranz’s order-management system.
THE CHALLENGE
Too many opportunities for mistakes between the manual and the order.
Before the project, Alltranz had no website. Customers searched parts manuals themselves, then emailed or faxed part numbers to place orders. When they needed help identifying a component, they called the Alltranz team.
The process relied on customers interpreting the manuals correctly and communicating the right part numbers. Ordering errors were common, while handling emails and calls took up staff time.
OUR APPROACH
Connect technical information with the buying process.
System7 developed bespoke OCR processing to extract information from the existing manuals and PDFs and turn it into structured data.
That data became the foundation for an online parts catalogue. Customers can begin with a rego or a vehicle’s make and find the relevant diagrams, visually identify components and add the correct parts to their cart.
The platform also connects ordering with the operation behind it: completed orders pass directly into Alltranz’s order-management system.
THE OUTCOME
Fewer ordering errors. Less manual handling.
Following launch, Alltranz saw a substantial drop in ordering errors and less time spent handling emails and calls.
Customers gained a more direct way to find and purchase parts, while the team spent less time helping interpret manuals and processing orders manually.
