Mission control at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre in Houston, Texas, provides sighting opportunities of the International Space Station (ISS) for thousands of locations all around the world. By using the “Location Lookup” tool, you can find the sighting information for your area, which tells you where to look at specific times.

By selecting your country and city, you are then provided with the dates and times of the occurrences, how long the station will be visible for and the co-ordinates required for finding the station. These times mostly appear to be positioned during night-time for New Zealander’s, so if you find yourself awake for no apparent reason with nothing to do, at least you can try and spot the ISS!
