Drone Aircraft's to Generate Power in the Sky

Renewable energy has been an effective method of generating power. One of the limitations of solar power and wind turbines is that they are limited at producing energy due to weather conditions. New Wave Energy has come up with a way to solve this problem by taking to the skies with flying power plants.

Each drone would be fitted with four small propellers and a large flat surface covered in solar panels. The turbines will be fitted to the drone in the best locations possible to generate power from wind. These drones would be capable of flying at altitudes of up to 50,000 feet, which puts them above air traffic. The propellers would allow the drone to track the course of the sun across the sky to stay in the best possible position. The benefit of the wind turbines is that at these altitudes, wind is really powerful so they can replace the giant wind turbines in the ground.

You are probably wondering how the drones will get the energy created back down to the ground. Microwaves of course, power from the drones could be beamed down as a low-energy microwave and collected by antenna arrays on the ground.

The cost of building and deploying the drones will determine whether the invention is worth taking to the next step.
